Yep... Saturday was a bit of a run-a-way... well ok... runaway isn't really true.. we knew it was going to happen... and we were pumped! As mentioned, the day was like a 3 part mini-series of stupidity. Allow me to expand:
- Part 1: Afternoon at Wildwood
pub
- Part 2: Wil concert.
- Part 3: House party at Nancy's
And now... the pictures...
Part 1: Afternoon at Wildwood pub
One of the many perks of Carpet's job is free stuff... whether it's a free little green shooters, a free t-shirt, or a free mini-van, Carpet's always getting the free goods. Today was no exception, Carpet was given a $100 gift certificate for Wildwood pub on 4th St.

Hmmm... what to do... $100's to spend at a pub... we sat and debate what would be most appropriate to purchase at 3pm on an idle Saturday afternoon.

Yes... after much debate, we decided it made the most sense to spend it all on beer... and maybe nachos. (note: Natcho's were purchased much to Dave's chagrin)

Exhibit 1: Boys + Beer.
So anyways, pints were slung, small talk was talked, jokes were told at others expense... so pretty much business as usual. However, we were feeling extra... um... "spunky". I mean, hey - we were out of the house before sundown on a Saturday... it was time to do something to let everyone in the pub know who we were.
So what did we do?
We started a 4 piece band, that's what! Behold - our new band, THE NERF CROWBARS:

Yup, we rocked the house... we played for about an hour, some high lights included, our cover of "Theme to Flash Gordon" by Queen, our 15 minutes jazz-fusion be-bop piece, and Scottie's solo rendition of "More than Words" by Exxtreme.
We also played some Color Me Badd. What the fuck ever happened to them?
After the gig Wildwood management asked us to leave. So we packed things up cashed out the gift certificate... and had a round of Jaugermiester shooters. ::Shudder::
So what to do next? It was still to early to get ready for the night's festivities, and were too giddy to go home and watch TV.
Then Carpet had a brainwave of genius proportions!

Yep, let's go raise some ruckus at the local Safeway!

Shopping carts are fun.

So is stuffing yourself into a deep freezer.

So is scaring the hell out of a pharmacist. (note: I'm pretty sure what Scottie is doing here is quite illegal)

We ran into some friends during all the Safeway debauchery. It's funny, because Nancy and The Suze weren't really too surprized by our antics. notice the girls are buying all the Pink Grapefruit juice in the store! WTF???
Unfortunately, the girls of 1509 weren't the only one's who noticed we were up to no good. Safeway management also saw us. And they were quick to surround and quasi-apprehend us.
Safeway manager: "What are you guys doing? What's all the noise about?"
Soy: "Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh..."
Carpet: "Frrrrrrrrreeeat..."
Scott: "Errrrrrrrrrrr.."
Dave: "Scavenger hunt. We're on a scavenger hunt for our fraternity at the U of C, Sir."
Safeway manager: "Really? Cool!"
Dave then convinced the manager to pose for a photo with all of us, and tubs of Feta cheese.

After that we best quit while we're ahead. So with no further adieu, we blazed straight home. Ok.. well not straight home, we did stop to do cartwheels down the front lawn of some swanky Mount Royal house/mansion.

We all felt kinda dizzy after that. Whodathunkit?!??
Part 2: Wil concert at Classic Jacks.
If you read the site regularly, you know that Wil is a local guitar God. We went to see him play at Classic Jacks. (Yes, I am aware that the last sentence was totally redundant.)

Wil didn't come on straight away... there was boxing first, so to pass the time, we sat around and had a few laughs and a few drinks... and a few more drinks.

And some shooters.

After the shooter I needed to relax, so I stopped to smell Wendy's hair. Have you ever smelt Wendy's hair? It's pretty frickin' nice. Apparently I got a bit carried away:

Not that anyone was doing any better:

Question of the day... Who's the guy on the left? Do we know him or what?
Anyhoo, the boxers finally stop fighting. Enter Wil. Rock, Wil, Rock!

Yup... rock and roll-a-mundo! Wil's set was awesome... I heard every tune I wanted to hear, except for the Beta Band cover. But I'm not complaining. Also, Special J - I was right on the Daughter tabs I sent you... but I digress. Also, the photo below is waaay to grainy and make us look distorted, but what can you do...

We wind things up at Classic Jacks, say goodbye to everyone and head to Nanc and Suzes party.
Yay, party time... Nancy and Suze always throw good bashes... never had a bad time over at their place. I bet you're dying to see the photos, right?

Yeah... it seems in my drunken wisdom, myself or someone else erased the party pictures... SHIT! Ah well... I'd like to remind you how much you pay me to keep this site going. Yeah... word to free stuff.
Anyway, the party was hype. I look back on my entrance at the party as a bull in china shop. I stumbled in kisses some girls, shook some hands, and proceed to take over the Dj booth, and mixed a 20 minute version of Stardust's "Music Sounds Better With You". Fuck that's hot tune... it will be played at my funeral... one day.
As mentioned that party was rockin', we all had a blast. I kept calling girls named Emily, 'Erin'. Frick, I ama wild party much like Kim Mitchell
After the party me and Scottie went to the local Mr. Sub shop. The guy who works their is INSANE. Anyways, I ranted at him about my lack of desire to super size my sub. And my general dislike for his policy of constantly trying to upsell. Scottie got behind the counter and took some pictures with him. Again, I'd love to show you the picture... but...

The pics were deleted.
Finally, the night came to a close at 3am or so... I think the capper was Festive "Food is for suckers and sailors" Dave. yup Dave came barreling into the house, and headed straight to the toiled and puked every ounce of his stomach out. It's funny, because earlier in the day, Dave was giving me shit for telling him to eat something. Hahahahaha, muthfucker.
Again, we took pics, but they were lost. But don't worry... we made a re-enactment of Dave's porcelain pose.

Annnnnnnnnd that's Saturday!
The End.
